dairy-free cheesy sauce - rich

You could use any of the dairy-free creamy sauce recipes as a base for this. For a rich topping it is best to use the rich creamy sauce recipe, so we've put this in here.

Ingredients

  • creamy sauce recipe:*
  • 1.25 cups sweetened soya milk
  • 1 cup sunflower/rapeseed/olive oil
  • juice of 1/2 lemon or most of that of a lime
  • cheesy flavours:*
  • 3-4 tablespoons yeast flakes
  • 2-3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1-2 rounded teaspoons mustard
  • 2 teaspoons yeast extract (e.g. Marmite)
  • 1 cooked potato or 1-2 tablespoons of potato flour / oatmeal

Method

  • Blend together the oil and juice thoroughly with a hand blender (not a liquidiser).
  • Then blend in the soya milk.
  • Quickly blend in the rest.

Notes

Make this using the rich creamy sauce recipe (as shown) and it will be the best recipe for pizza/bake cheezy sauce.
