Spar Austria brings out new vegetarian and vegan food range
Date: 2012-02-21
Austria can be a bit taxing for vegetarians and vegans, but things are changing with Spar Austria's new veggie range.
Veggie Snow hopes this means that more vegetarian and vegan products will be on the shelves in Austrian ski resorts and hopefully the move will extend to Spars throughout the Alps and beyond.
Part-time vegetarian, Gwyneth Paltrow, is helping to advertise Spar Austria's new own brand range of vegetarian and vegan foods. These will be lower priced than comparable foods available in supermarkets and health food shops there, and have their background in sustainable food production.
By advertising with a well known figure and emphasising the sustainable and healthy nature of the food, this should help these foods reach a wider audience than the relatively small and poorly catered for vegetarian community in Austria. Good move.
