Chalet Emeralde Great last minute deals with Ski Beat

Ski Beat, a long term favourite of vegetarian and vegan skiers and boarders, is offereng some great last minute and end of season deals. There has been plenty of snow this year and temperatures have stayed low, so the conditions are good for a trip. They offer a further £100 discount for independent travel, which is easy by train, car or coach to their resorts, and generally far better for the planet.  Its a massive £200 off per person for this on 31st March – special offer.

SPAR-Veggie-Gwyneth-Paltrow Spar Austria brings out new vegetarian and vegan food range

Austria can be a bit taxing for vegetarians and vegans, but things are changing with Spar Austria's new veggie range. 

Veggie Snow hopes this means that more vegetarian and vegan products will be on the shelves in Austrian ski resorts and hopefully the move will extend to Spars throughout the Alps and beyond.

New veggie-owned catered chalet listed on Veggie Snow

We've come across a very small number of catered ski chalets actually owned by veggies, and have recently added another to the extensive Veggie Snow recommended places to stay listings.

New catered Alpine chalet with a vegetarian host

Chalet Palene is a newly set up catered traditional chalet in the gorgeous and huge Grand Massif ski area. Easy to get to by train, inclunding sleepers and TGVs (fast trains) from Paris, stopping at Cluses on the St Gervais Le Bains line.

Not only that, but also one of the hosts is veggie, and vegans will have fab catering too. Report back with a review if you get to stay there.

Zuki, Stephen and Tatum Outdoor gear is 'environmentally toxic'

Ethical Consumer magazine reports that outdoor clothing companies almost universally have a poor environmental and welfare record. Veggies will be pleased to know that the few exceptions include Ethical Wares and Vegetarian Shoes, well known for their vegan hiking boots.
