the 2008 skiing and boarding trip
This wonderful and very snowy holiday has been and gone, and you can see a selection of the photos people took on the Veggie Snow group at Flickr.
Fully booked. But do get in touch if you would like to be on our emailing list about next year's trip.
We've made a useful La Plagne 1800 Resort Information page for resort and pre-booking details for those already coming on the trip. Also take a look at our essential items list.
Our trips are open to people wanting great veggie food in a fantastic location. Beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders are all welcome - there is bound to be another person of similar ability to go to lessons or hit the slopes with. If you are on your own we can put you in a room with someone of the same sex. Every trip manages to be even better than the last - we all have a fantastic time!
We've completely filled two chalets in La
Plagne 1800 with SkiBeat for March 2008. The more people we have
the more funds we raise for animals and the environment without
costing you a penny extra, so this is great news.
Yes - we're going with the same company as before, because they give great all round service and help us raise more funds for good veggie causes than any other company. Plus the 2007 trip was the best ever, so we want to build on that!
It's another fantastic location with great skiing/boarding and fabulous food and excellent people to share your holiday with. The high altitude and low season ensure a great chance of good snow and uncrowded pistes.
We'll have exclusive use of the chalets, as always, so all the food will be vegan and suitable for everyone!

- One week starting 15th March 2008.
- Chalets Bartevelle and Becoin are exclusively ours for the week.

- This competitive price includes en-suite accommodation, 3 meals a day (breakfast, tea with cake, 3 course dinner), 3 days' ski guiding for more experienced snow-addicts, lovely chalet hosts, travel by plane (though we strongly encourage opting to pay a supplement to go by train for sure ease, sociability and the environment, or self-drive) and tranfer to the resort.

environmental travel
Like most veggies, we care about the environment. It's particularly key for keen skiers to stop climate change, as otherwise we'll end up with nowhere to ski in Europe. SO we book with a company that cares about environemental issues, and also offers excellent train travel options, which are far better for the planet and your own stress levels than flying.
You can travel by daytime Eurostar or night time Snow Train. This year most of us are taking the Snow Train overnight sleeper service so we can get 8 days on the slopes rather than 6. There are couchettes for sleeping in.
Everyone booking a Veggie Snow place can choose their own travel option. Note that if you go there by car sharing with others this is the cheapest option and just as eco-friendly as the train if there are 4 in the car.
If you do have to fly, please offset this a little by purchasing carbon off-setting (see Links). However we travel, we can all do this in fact!
the pistes
La Plagne & Les Arcs (joined together as Paradiski) are well known for long wide runs and lots of fun stuff for all levels of skier and boarder.
Most pistes are generous and wide with lots of
potential to go off piste either for miles or all down the side of
a piste that you can escape back onto. And there are some
wonderful gullies too, such as the one in the photo here, not
to mention half-pipes and snow parks.
There's a nursery slope and ski school very close to our chalets, as well as a chair lift straight up to La Plagne centre, with a blue slope back down to near our chalets, which means even beginners should be able to ski home by the end of the week.
