Global Warming

There are no two ways about it, global warming is set to severely impact skiing in Europe and the rest of the world. So even if you are no environmentalist, if you want to be skiing in your later life, it's time to do something now!

One great piece of news is that as someone with a tendancy towards eating veggie, you are already significantly reducing your carbon footprint. Even the UN now say that animal farming is the top contributor to climate change. The more you cut our animal products from your lifestyle, the better for the planet. There are lots of ideas and recipes here!

Greening Your Snow Holiday

A greener snow holiday means whiter snow holidays in the future!

Nearly all holidays have an impact on the planet. You can control your impact with some straightforward ideas. Take a look at our eco-friendly skiing links, especially Save Our Snow.

Veggie Snow trips are green

Veggie Snow holidays have a big focus on environmental issues. We organise these annual trips in places that are accessible by train, with companies with strong eco policies, and best of all, all that scrummy vegan veggie food by it's nature has a much lower impact on the planet than animal-based food.

From this year onwards we are also planning to use the group leader discount to completely offset the carbon emmissions of the train travel and holiday for everyone.

Greening your Life

There are many many ways you can reduce your eco-footprint on the world. Here are some websites to get you started.

  • Earthday calculator - helps you assess what you eco-footprint is now, and is one of the few such calculators that includes what you eat. Change single items in the calculator and see what impact this has. This will help you see where you can make the most significant changes in your lifestyle. Try focussing on one or two big items you can change for starters, such as cutting out animal products or flying.
