French margerines and other vegan products

Vegan Margerine

one of our half-French group members has been researching margerine in France, and most of the vegan ones only seem to be available in healthfood stores and "magazins bio" (organic shops). The brands which are okay are:

  • Vitaquell Extra
  • Primeviere
  • Bonneterre
  • Rapunzel Soma

Not sure about this one:

Tournolice ni (sometimes available in supermarkets) in "arômes" it says "(contient des traces de lait)". Fine if that's the same as may contain traces of nuts style of thing, but not if it is an actual ingredient or component of the flavourings ("arômes").

Note to resort manager

Please tell us if you cannot get hold of a vegan margerine and ask us in good time to bring some (at least 3 days' notice), and state how much we should bring (based on how much butter/marg this many guests would normally get though). In cooking (even cakes) sunflower/olive/vegetable oil can be used instead. Please see our recipe pages at http://www.veggiesnow.makessense.co.uk for guideance on this.

Eurostar at St Pancras International Station, London, UK Travel by train for luxury, ease and longer lasting snow

We've found traveling by train to be the most restful and enjoyable way to the Alps. It is often the fastest, with short transfers, and can give you an extra couple of days skiing if you take a sleeper. We find that by taking a sleeper there is no better way to get there ready to ski. You'll also be helping the snow to last for many more years to come.

However, it is just not immediately obvious how easy it is to get to so many resorts in this way. So we're here to help.
